Salish Alderwood - Smoked Sea Salt
The name of Salish salt goes back to an Indian tribe in north-western America. For centuries, the Salish Indians have used Red Alderwood to smoke salmon and meat to preserve them.
Salish salt is still made today according to ancient Indian traditions. Sea salt from the Pacific is slowly cold smoked over red alder wood. The smoking process takes up to 48 hours. This is where the Salish Alderwood salt gets its unmistakable graphite-like color and the clear and authentic smoky taste.
