Description

100% natural spring water table salt unrefined - no chemical additives - no release agents - no added iodine

The desert salt comes from a picturesque area in the heart of the Kalahari Desert. In the main Karoo basin of South Africa, three underground rivers flow together on a layer of rock millions of years old containing pure and pristine sodium chloride crystals. As these watercourses run through and over the ancient strata, the salt is leached from the rock and flows into a sheltered underground brine lake. Here the brine swells to the surface. This is then carefully dried in the sun. Located far from inhabited areas, this subterranean brine lake is the source of the Kalahari desert salt. Since there was no air or water pollution when the salt was created, the Kalahari desert salt is a natural, untreated gourmet salt that is free from pollutants and environmental influences. Due to its great age of around 280 - 300 million years, it is also referred to as one of the oldest and most original earth salts.
